Appointed Judge of the Provincial Court of British Columbia, 1974; Administrative Judge, Vancouver Family Court, 1978-80; Administrative Judge, Lower Mainland Family Court District, 1980-88; Deputy Judge of the Territorial Court of the N.W.T., 1991; Director, Western Judicial Education Centre, 1988-94; Adjunct Professor, Department of Criminology, Simon Fraser University 1991-97; Member Board of Governors, Justice Institute of British Columbia 1995-2002; Advisor to the Asia-Pacific Forum on Judicial Education on Equality Issues 1997-2007; Advisor to the Judicial Independence and Human Dignity Project for Judges of the Palestinian Authority 2005-12; Honour: British Columbia Year of the Child and Family Award 1979; Honour; Canadian Bar Association Touchstone Award 2019.
