THE HONOURABLE JAMES RUSSELL

Born December 28, 1949, in County Durham, England. Education at University of Wales (B.A.), University of Saskatchewan (M.A.), Dalhousie University (Ph.D.), Cambridge University (M.A.). Called to the Bar of Saskatchewan in 1983. Associate and partner Gauley & Co. and McDougall Gauley, 1983 to 2002. Lecturer in Law, Faculty of Law, University of Hull, England, 1979 - 1981; Legal Consultant, Saskatchewan Law Reform Commission, 1981 - 1982; Lecturer, College of Law, University of Saskatchewan, 1982 - 1993. Lead Counsel, North Battleford Water Inquiry, 2001 - 2002. Appointed Judge of the Federal Court of Canada, Trial Division and ex officio member of the Federal Court of Appeal, December 11, 2002 and Judge of the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada, February 20, 2003.
